Does Global Warming Exist? and if so, how does it affect our ocean?
What is Global Warming?
Global warming is the long term heating of the earths climate system, fueled by human inventions such as cars- which release greenhouse gases, that are harmful to the the overall temperature of the planet.
What are Greenhouse Gases?
Greenhouse gases are gases that trap heat and essentially warm up the planet. Most commonly the gases within the greenhouse gases are C02 (Carbon Dioxide), Methane, Water Vapor, and Nitrous Oxide. Carbon Dioxide is released through care engines and this is a form of a greenhouse gas that causes pollution and plays a huge role in the global warming.
Now that we have covered two important topics relative to this article...
How do these elements affect our ocean?
These elements affect our ocean because the rising heat contributes to the migration of millions of animals living in the sea or reside by the sea. As the ocean acidity increases, it makes it a toxic environment for the sea animals to live in and causes many unfortunate events for animals such as a death, poisoning, malnutrition, and extinction.
However...
We are the main issue. Our existence makes it difficult for the ocean to stay healthy and preserved. Our growing rate of the human population makes it challenging for the planet to be taken care of because as the birth rate increases, so does the number of people using greenhouse gases does.
How can we solve this issue of global warming and preserving our oceans?
Easy. Save electricity by turning off any unnecessary lights. Avoid using the car and take healthy transportation alternatives, educate yourself and others on the impact of this issue. You may also volunteer to cleanup oceans, promote awareness on preservation of oceans/sea animals etc, and most of all, advocate against the use of big factories that pollute the air.
