The Gentleness of Sharks

Sharks can come in many varieties and shapes.

There are hammerheads, goblins, and the well-known great white shark. Normally when we think of sharks we think of a sea monster, something that can tear our very limbs off without ‘wasting its breath’.

In reality, however, shark attacks are extremely rare. In the United States, there are about 16 shark attacks annually with 1 or 2 of them becoming fatal. Surprisingly, more people die from falling down the ladder than shark attacks, kinda proving that sharks are not as dangerous as they seem.

They look scary, with their razor-sharp teeth, their piercing eyeballs, and their ominous fin, but it’s incredibly unlikely that a shark will take time out of their day to attack you or try and eat you.

Unless someone provokes it, that is what makes many of these deaths by animals, people provoking them. But as long as someone maintains their distance and respects them, the person and the shark will get along fine. There are even scuba divers who can touch and pet them, keeping in mind that they are professionals.
