How do Great Hammerhead Sharks behave?
As I have mentioned before, their wide eyes are a great advantage for them! They can see better than most sharks in the world! Other than their eyes to help them, they have these sensory organs that help them scan for food. One type of sensory organ is called the ampullae of Lorenzini, which allows them to detect the electrical fields created by prey. This allows them to find their favorite meals such as stingray (which usually hides under the sand). The Great Hammerheads flattened and very specifically shaped heads allow them to turn their head quickly and sharply. Their nostrils are also widened so that they can smell for prey.
