The ability to jump higher is based mostly on the shape of the sharks' tails. A few sharks are able to use their tails to propel themselves outside of the water, leading to a fantastic jumping competition.
The Shortfin Mako shark is the gold metal winner in this jumping competition. It can propel itself 30 feet out of the water, which is equivalent to 9 meters.
The Thresher shark is our silver medalist. It can jump 20 feet, 6 meters, out of the water.
And our bronze medalist goes to the Great White Shark, with a height of 10 feet, which is 3 meters, out of the water!
